Fixrtech LLC ("Fixrtech," "we," "us," or "our") operates fixrtech.com, an on-demand tech support marketplace connecting customers with verified IT professionals. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using our platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

Data We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of our platform, and limited technical information.

Information you provide:

• Full name and email address (at signup)
• Account password (stored as a secure hash via Supabase)
• Google account info if you sign up via Google OAuth
• Profile details for IT professionals (specialty, bio, certifications, hourly rate)
• Booking details (issue description, session type, scheduled time)
• Review and rating content submitted after sessions

Information generated automatically:

• Location data (city/region) when you use location-based matching features
• Device type and browser information for security and compatibility
• IP address for rate limiting and fraud prevention
• Session activity logs for support and dispute resolution

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Facilitate bookings between customers and IT professionals
• Process payments and disburse earnings to pros
• Send booking confirmations, receipts, and review requests via email
• Provide customer support and resolve disputes
• Improve platform performance and user experience
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Sharing

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Between users: When a booking is confirmed, relevant contact details are shared between the customer and IT professional to facilitate the session.
• Service providers: We use trusted third-party services (Stripe for payments, Supabase for data storage, Resend for email, Cloudflare for hosting) who are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
• Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred with prior notice.

Payments

All payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you enter payment information on Fixrtech, that data is transmitted directly to Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Fixrtech does not store your full card number, CVV, or bank account details on our servers. We retain only the payment reference ID and transaction amount for booking records and dispute resolution.

IT professionals connect a Stripe account to receive payouts. Their banking details are stored and managed exclusively by Stripe.

Location Data

Fixrtech may collect approximate location information (city or region) to help match customers with nearby IT professionals for on-site support sessions.

• Location data is only collected with your consent via your browser
• You can use the platform without enabling location; results may be less relevant
• We do not continuously track your location outside of active booking flows
• Precise GPS coordinates are not stored — only general area (city/region)

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS
• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
• Row Level Security (RLS) enforced on all database tables
• API rate limiting to prevent unauthorized access
• Admin access restricted to verified email addresses

While we take security seriously, no system is fully immune to breaches. If a data breach occurs that affects your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services:

• Account data is retained until you delete your account
• Booking records are retained for 7 years for financial and legal compliance
• Reviews are retained unless removed per our content policy
• Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days, except where retention is required by law

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email
